Highlights The following are the current highlights that we are now able to release to you as we progress our planning for this event.

Pio has confirmed he will once again be MC for our pre AGM event and I know everyone enjoyed the professional touch he added to the programme in 2008. Pio expressed his desire to return and we are happy to have him onboard to help the event keep on time.

Powhiri There will be an official welcome for all whanau and guests to this years event on Rakiura, as has been the case with all previous events host on the island by the Rakiura Maori Land Trust.

Introductions Every greeting many of you find out more about your whanau as new whanau come to the event for the first time. This opportunity to introduce your whanau and its connection to Rakiura is one of the most treasured events for those attending our hui, I am sure everyone will be looking forward to this occasion again.

Seafood Feast - for those who were their last time I think everyone thought this feast could not be bettered, well plans are well advanced to do just that. You can expect the usual Paua, Mussels, Titi, Crayfish, and so much more in feast quantities with traditional and restaurant quality. This will exceed your expectations.

Cruise Trips

We once again we will offer the Lords River and The Neck trips for you but we are also offering an additional trip of Ulva Island and the Inlet. These trips will as always exceed your expectations.

Lords River - Always our most popular trip will again offer the opportunity to go ashore and spend time at this beautiful part of Rakiura. In addition this year we are working towards having your Lunch at Lords River rather than coming back into the Inlet.

The Neck - This trip which was well supported last time will be greatly improved this year as you will get the chance to experience the developments associated with our tourism development on The Neck. You will be able to walk the Track we have created around to the Shelter on the Eastern Side of the Island where you will have your lunch.

Ulva Island - (NEW) This is a new trip for 2010 and will feature the opportunity to spend some time on Ulva Island then travel around Paterson Inlet see the Salmon farm and head over to the old whaling station for lunch.

Museum Visit - We will once again arrange special visiting hours over the weekend to allow people to get through for a look.

Tourist Party

Our Saturday night feature will be a tourist party, which you will feature as part of the cast so get your thoughts going on your fancy dress option for the tourist theme there will be great prizes to be won, don't be the odd one out. Watch this space for more details.
